I am SO over you!

Here are some things that I am currently sick of...
-allergies. I used to think people that complained of allergies were wimpy and should just buck up (real sympathetic, huh). That was before I had them, and they are raging! I want to remove my eyeballs and stop SNEEZING. (note to self, do more Kegel excercises before next allergy season!)
-Accutane. I am in my last month, and must say that the results have been great. I would totally do it again, and still might have to. But, you put up with skin that is incredibly dry, and my face feels like it is on fire
-Jon and Kate+8. I have seen every episode of this show. Shayne has said all along how he didn't like Kate because she was witchy. Yeah, I agree now. I am SO over episodes of them GETTING STUFF! Teeth whiteniing, trips to Utah, Disneyland, a whole house of furniture. The episode of Jon and Kate go green was the last nail in the coffin. She was dissin on Steve Thomas of This Old House fame. Being sarcastic and snippy is cute for, oh, 5% of the time. Solar panels, and thermal panels, all free if your last name is Gosselin. Will I still be watching the show, yes.
-dieting. Being married to the incredible shrinking man is job enough!(who weighs less than me now, by the way!)

Cooking Bacon

While I was reading the comments to my previous bacon post (two bacon posts in one week, get a hold of yourself Kellie!) I wondered if you guys knew...
You can cook bacon in the oven!!!
Yup, my friend Julene Hansens taught me this...
Put the sliced bacon on a cookie sheet(with a edge) and put in an oven at 425ish, cook for 20 min.
(heavens opening, cherubs singing, waistlines expanding)

cooking it in the oven doesn't mess the oven up at all! When it is done, you get it off the cookie sheet and drain on paper towels. Let the bacon grease cool, and then scrape into a can.

I love bacon and I am realizing that in order for me to lose weight, we cannot
co-exist...in the meantime, share one of my favorite comedian's take on bacon!

Birdie Bummer

Today was a sad day. When Kennedy and I were walking up to the front door, we discovered that the wreath that the birds nest was nestled in was laying on the ground in front of the front door.
No more baby birds.
I was in the process of taking pictures of the nest and the babies to show to the primary kids and to go along with a song we sing.
They had just hatched the night before Easter, I thought "what a wonderful Easter gift"
We have gone through the garage to give the mommy bird some peace the last 3 weeks, and I have lifted up many kids to let them see the little miracle on our porch.
I have even said a little prayer to protect them during the wind, and then I added some wood to keep the wreath down.
I am bummed. We have never had a nest that I actually knew about and could watch and share in the wonder.
Shayne blamed it on the cirlce of life and that somewhere there was a cat that had a good meal. Not very comforting.

You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have...

I couldn't help it! C'mon, you know you finished it in your head!

All of it, ruined!

So, Shayne was helping with laundry because he was getting ready for a trip. I didn't think much of it, until I heard Shayne downstairs, and I knew it wasn't good.
All the clothes in an entire load were totally stained with an oily substance.
Oh no. I totally knew what it was. Vaseline. Because my lips are so dry due to my Accutane, I apply Vaseline to my mouth at least 10 times a day, and carry one in my pocket. And I didn't take it out of my pocket that day. All my fault. I tried in vain to get the stains out, but they were all ruined. A whole load of Shayne's work darks, so we lost...

2 pair of nice work pants
Not the best timing.
Such a bummer.

This week...

Are you allowed to post on a blog without pictures, am I breaking a rule here???
The diet is coming along okay. THere have been a couple run-ins with a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Eggs, but I am down 6 pounds. In an effort to excercise, I went out and bought the mother of all sports bra's, it is by ENELL, and if you have any gal pals who are, ahem...., well endowed, tell them there is not better support out there. Better be for $64, but seriously worth it.
In other Farrell news, Jordan got the game ball last week's game. This is the FIRST time he has ever gotten that honor. He made an awesome play by catching a ground ball at 3rd, and throwing to 1st to get someone out. Awesome.
Kennedy is now playing up on volleyball. Even though she is only 9, she is on a 10-12 team. It is awesome to see her on the team high five-ing with all the other girls. They are all aggressive, and won their game on Saturday.

The family schedule was so darn busy last week. We had four games, one practice, activity day girls, church cleaning, and laundry, laundry, laundry. ( do you see a theme here on this blog, I really hate laundry.)
There are some balls in the air that have surely dropped somewhere, maybe under the couch...
